New France Museum Exhibits

The Element students work on New France projectThe Element students work on New France project

In Humanities, e1 students are currently exploring Canadian history from the early explorers to Confederation. As part of this study, students were required to look at what life was like in the French Colony of New France and then in small groups, students presented their findings in the form of a “museum exhibit.” In order to create a realistic and compelling exhibit, students needed to consider the French settlements and culture, explorers, governance and relationship with the Aboriginals. Students created their projects in The Element’s new design studio and then presented the final result to their classmates.
