e2 – Healthy Active Living

In the Grade 9 Healthy Active Living Education course, students held a mini “healthy snack fest”. Each student brought in their own “healthy snack sampling” for the class to enjoy. Additionally, they were asked to comment on the nutritional benefits of the snack they presented to the group.

This week students explored the Gestalt Principles of visual communication. In pairs, they organized their very own interactive presentations/workshops that were focused on the concepts of: closure, similarity, proximity and continuity (in relation to Graphic Design).

The ​class explored minimalist graphic design through Adobe Illustrator this week. The students created simplistic architectural illustrations by arranging various shapes in a cohesive manner. Midway through the week, the class was tested on their understanding of the history and development of graphic design through a game of Jeopardy.
